Dinner Smoothie & Pumpkin Confession
Preface for the vegetable-phobic: run away!
I’m having a test of something new: fresh pumpkin & spinach, simmered on the stove in some broth & then whipped with a stick blender into what I’m calling a dinner smoothie: it’s vivid green in color and taste and it would make carnivores faint. It’s a nice switch from cold vegetable juices & also makes a great soup for lazy people like me, who want to drink their soup from a cup, rather than use a spoon.
Time for the pumpkin confession. Whoo boy. I carved a pumpkin today, and thought the whole time,”I went to art school for sculpture! I used pneumatic tools & welders & grinders & hammers & chisels: why the f*ck can’t I carve a f*cking pumpkin?!”
I still don’t know the answer to that. If you notice the absence of any jack-o-lantern photos in this post, it’s not accidental.
Oh, ok…I posted it to Flickr, so I may as well show it here:
About 20 minutes
…that’s how long it takes to disassemble the juicer & clean it out thoroughly. I am a WIMP.
