Waiting to knit

…sounds weird, right?
I have a new project started, Clementine’s Cardi, and I’m waiting for my extra yarn to come in from Yarn.com….I can’t keep knitting unless I change colors, and they’re in the mail. Quel drag.
phat fiber September sampler hat
I signed up for one of the Phat Fiber (etsy:PhatFiber) sampler’s, and was very blown away by all the fun stuff in the box.
So, I set myself a challenge to spin all the fiber into one yarn, and then knit that up into a hat with the yarns that were also included in the sampler.
The theme was fairytales & folklore: the yarns & fibers were beautiful.
It was a fun project & it’s a very smooshy, soft hat.
This is a great creative mood enhancer; I tend to have very rigid plans for fiber, so it was fun to have a very loose idea of what to do & just flow with it. I definitely recommend signing up for Phat Fiber’s monthly sampler, if you’re a knitter or a spinner. There’s so much great stuff out there that isn’t really known about. I think I found out through a banner ad on Ravelry, and I’m really glad that I did.
The most fabulous knitting cupcakes on earth
Oh, so fabulous.
From my contacts’ photostream, I saw these fantastic images of knitted moustaches and dreamy cupcakes and I truly wish I could have been there for the festivities!
Rock, ladies, rock!
A day not spent in the garden…

is a sad, sad day. Too much work to do, and for so many hours: the day was gone pretty quickly.
Oh well. Still leaves tomorrow, and I intend to make the most of it.
Spent a half hour winding the slub cotton I bought a few years ago into balls and realized how much I hate knitting cotton, so I slung it right into my mom’s lap, with my blessings. She has no such issues.
Am torn between starting a knitting project (don’t know what to make, and have a lot of yarn rolling around here) and reading my book “Let the Right One In” (the Swedish vampire novel).
Or writing this entry…guess which won?
But now I’m going off to read my book.
